The official start of Autumn was around a month ago, but here in Orlando, the coolness was delayed. It was only a few nights ago that a light jacket or sweater was needed in the evening and it was a welcome surprise. Change is good.
The gorgeous handbag featured above was brought in by Carol. Carol, a retired lawyer who saw Black Sabbath and would take her son to death metal shows, disclosed to me that she loved to litigate in a skirt suit instead of a pant suit. I asked her why and she said that the feminine silhouette made her feel pretty. I love this honest response. I understood and replied, "Since you feel good, you can focus on your job and perform better". This is the power of clothing. Everyone will see firsthand in under a week the transformative nature of dressing up on Halloween.
I agree with Carol and this is one of the reasons why I enjoy dressing up for work. It simply feels good and sets a tone so that you can focus on the more important things at hand. When we discussed the caramel purse, she smiled and said that she had good times with it. Now, she is passing the torch to another.
This is what I love and have always loved about Dechoes. It is the change and revolving door of merchandise. It is the element of surprise and discovery. Each and every hand-curated item has a story and a past life. One waves good bye to an object and someone else waves hello to it.
