Flower in Lyon (and Dubrovnik)

Kerri Colangelo

Last month, I stopped into the lovely city of Lyon for a couple of days to see this exhibition: Yoko Ono | Lumière de L’aube at the The Museum of Contemporary Art LyonI thought of the shop. Yes, even on holiday, my thoughts go back to you :)

Installation view of Yoko Ono's Ex It. I was attracted to this room in particular.

No caption needed. Just read. Read it again. And again.

A mountain of clothes. I walked into this room and it reminded me of a good buying day.

Quick Flick. Here I am watching a film by Yoko in my favorite dress from the shop (vintage Gap raw denim wrap circa 2001). I love this dress. I wear this dress often.

Birds of a Feather. A detailed shot of a file box in the nail room where visitors were invited to interact with the room and the furniture inside. One was instructed to pick up nails and a hammer and just go for it. At the shop, we've been having a reoccurring dialog lately about Takashi Murakami and the collaboration with Louis Vuitton.

Wish Tree. No Yoko Ono exhibition is complete without the recognizable Wish Trees where visitors are invited to write and share their wishes. There were a few outside that greeted you and a couple more inside the glass lobby. I am always attracted to the human element. It is so touching to seeing a collection of fluttering of tags with different handwritings and languages and dreams.

Dream. A detailed shot of Old Town's famous city walls in Dubrovnik. I picked up the tote from the Yoko show and I can't stop using it - (go green!). At a number of the residences, there would be a drainpipe that led to a plastic bottle that collected the water run off.
